The packaging is also carried out at a temperature of 2 to 4ºC, and the duly grouped and labelled boxes remain in this area until they leave on their short journey to Quito airport in a refrigerated truck.
Three kinds of box are used for packaging: complete (or full), half and quarter boxes. The weight of a complete box (two half boxes) is 24 kilos on average, but varies slightly according to the stem length, the number of bunches in the box and the variety of rose.
